"It's been about 2 years that we last saw the presentation; "I am the boss of my body," and my daughter still remembers what she learned". - Andrea

Who we are

Awareness for Happiness is a social entrepeneurship that is committed on educating responsibly about social issues that may be complex to teach or even talk about. For this reason, we believe that the use of performing arts is an effective tool to increase the level of awareness about these issues. Awareness that empowers people to achieve happiness.

Our History

Awareness for Happiness started providing presentations on December 2012 in Arequipa, Peru with the former name “Enlazados,” in English “Bonded,” under the direction of Claudia Cervantes (maiden name). The goal was to teach about good values, and share smiles with theater performances during the  Christmas holidays.

All this was possible thanks of the amazing group of volunteers that offered free performances in schools, orphanages, hospitals, and to families that live in areas with limited access to resources. Enlazados reached over 600 people on the months of December from 2012 to 2015.

In 2017, with the intention to continue with this cause in the United States, “Enlazados” adopted the name of “Awareness for Happiness (AFH).” This time, with a more specific mission: “To spread awareness about social issues with the use of performing arts.” That is how a new social project: “ I am the boss of my body,” was born.

The goal of this project is to educate children, and caregivers in a family-friendly way about how to take care of their bodies, and in this way, help reduce the number of victims of Child Sexual Abuse. We are using puppets as an educational tool, and so far, with 15 presentations in Summit County, Colorado, and Peru, AFH has educated over 950 people.
